He then asked everyone to stand who had a relative who was fighting cancer since the event benefited two organizations who help in the fight to cure cancer. Odette Gutierrez with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital spoke first, sharing about a young man named Jake who had a tumor when he was very young. He was originally given a 30% chance to live, but after being taken to St. Jude, his chance of survival went from 30% to 80%. Over time, he got better and better and has grown so well. He is a 14-year survivor and showed the treatment not only worked, but safe. Kel Linstead from Make-A-Wish spoke next, sharing a video about a young girl named Amina who was granted her wish of having her own cafe.
