Economist John Husing Joins Bruce Norris on the Real Estate Radio Show #423

Bruce Norris is joined this week by Dr. John Husing. Dr. Husing is a leading authority on the Inland Empire economy, an area he has been studying since he wrote his doctoral thesis on the region in 1964.  His influence on the business and political landscape has been so extensive that the LA times named him one of the 100 most powerful people in Southern California in 2006.  He is the writer of the Quarterly Economic Report, an economic newsletter now in its 20th year.  His company, Economics and Politics, Inc, provides consulting services for municipalities and services with economic strategies, statistical data packages, recommendations for public policy and presentations to businesses and political leaders about the nature of growth and economic trends in Southern California.  His website includes copies of his newsletter, Power Point presentations of various speeches and photographic glimpses of his exotic travel adventures. Harry Dent Joins Bruce Norris on the Real Estate Radio Show #342

Bruce Norris is joined once again this week by Harry Dent. Harry is a New York Times best-selling author known for his ability to look at past cycles and demographics, to reject what is next for the economy, and where to most wisely invest. One of his most famous calls was writing a book back in 1992 entitled The Great Boom Ahead. When most of the authors were writing about a repeat of a Great Depression, in 2008 Harry also wrote a book projecting a Great Depression. His most recent work is The Great Crash Ahead, subtitled “For a World Turned Upside Down." Bruce and Harry discuss inflation and deflation, the target of the subtitle “For a World Turned Upside Down," the Great Depression of the 1930s and whether we will see another, historical debt bubbles, our long-term demographic downturn, the demographics of real estate, the baby boomer generation, and much more on this weeks real estate radio show and podcast.

I Survived Real Estate 2012 Part 2 #302

On October 19, 2012, The Norris Group proudly presented I Survived Real Estate 2012.  An expert line-up of industry experts joined Bruce Norris to discuss perplexing industry trends, head-scratching legislation, and the outlook for real estate in the coming year.  Over $77,000 was raised to benefit Make a Wish and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Sarah Pizzaruso from Make a Wish spoke about five-year old McClain who had his wish granted to play football with a professional team and how this affected so many others, including his family and those at the stadium.  Lainie Strouse from St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital also spoke about the child Braden who they have helped as well as the the many progressions they are making in the medical field and in cancer research.  In the broadcast segment, Bruce Norris discusses the value of real estate properties today compared to early 2000, underwater borrowers, our current interest rates, unsold inventory in California, what is being done to provide relief more quickly, and much more.  He also discusses with Fannie Mae's economic director Mark Palim consumer sentiment towards the market, their expectations on housing prices, increased rents, and if we have passed the bottom of the housing market.  To find out more, tune in next week for I Survived Real Estate 2012, part 3.

Bruce Norris is joined this week by Christopher Thornberg.  Christopher is the founding partner of Beacon Economics, LLC and widely considered to be one of California's leading economists.  He is an expert in economic forecasting and regional economics, economic policy, and industry economics.  He was one of the earliest and most adamant predictors of the global economic recession that began in 2008. Author and Economist Harry Dent #169

This week Bruce Norris is joined once again by Harry Dent. Harry is the president of the H.S. Dent Foundation, which publishes the H.S. Dent forecast. His mission is to help people understand change. He is the author of many books, which include The Great Boom Ahead 1992 and The Roaring 2000s and The Great Depression Ahead.

Bruce and Mr. Dent discuss how some of the brightest minds missed the bubble, the upcoming depression and US banking collapse coming in 2011, and the problem with economist and why they often get it wrong. They all discuss the differences between Japan and the US and how demographics play an important role in determining the coming market.
