This week's segment begins with Bruce Norris presenting this year's Rohny award to Ward Hanigan. Bruce shared Ward's life story and the impact he had on so many through his teachings. After presenting the award, Bruce discusses reverse and undue stimulus, using a house that went through several different price changes over the years as an example. Next, he brings up the first two panelists at the event, David Kittle and Doug Duncan. David Kittle Senior Vice President of Federal Solutions for First American Mortgage Solutions, specializing in risk mitigation and analytics. Doug Duncan is Fannie Mae’s Chief Economist and Vice President. Together, they discuss the state of the market and if we have moved from a vindictive state to a constructive one as well as the increase in costs, the time it takes to close a loan, the house discussed earlier and its price journey, and the majority of millennials living at home on this week's Norris Group real estate radio show and podcast.

Aaron Norris opened the event by thanking everyone for their sponsorship, some for many years. He then asked everyone to stand who had a relative who was fighting cancer since the event benefited two organizations who help in the fight to cure cancer. Odette Gutierrez with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital spoke first, sharing about a young man named Jake who had a tumor when he was very young. He was originally given a 30% chance to live, but after being taken to St. Jude, his chance of survival went from 30% to 80%. Over time, he got better and better and has grown so well. He is a 14-year survivor and showed the treatment not only worked, but safe. Kel Linstead from Make-A-Wish spoke next, sharing a video about a young girl named Amina who was granted her wish of having her own cafe. Bruce Norris is joined this week by Leslie Appleton-Young. Leslie is the Chief Economist and Vice President for the California Association of Realtors. CAR has 195,000 members dedicated to the advancement of professionalism in real estate. Leslie directs the activities of the association’s member information group. She oversees the analysis of housing markets and brokerage industry trends, member communications, and membership development activities. She is also closely involved with the association’s strategic planning and is well known speaker the in the real estate community. Adding to her fame is her Friday night appearance at I Survived Real Estat.
