A New Type of Renting and Co-Living With Shayna Golbaf #619

This week, Aaron Norris is joined by Shayna Golbaf. She is a real estate investor based out of Riverside and has actually grown up in real estate. It is actually her side hustle as she has been an educator for 15 years and is currently an assistant principal in Riverside. She is also currently going through a Ph.D program at UC Irvine for its leadership and education. She is studying Spanish, and she loves to travel more than anyone. Aaron met Shayna as part of a non-profit board. She was voluntold to run for Mardi Gras queen, and she did not even realize what was happening until she showed up and her picture was already plastered on the posters. True to form, she already ended up winning the entire thing.

This week, Aaron Norris is joined by Senator Bob Wieckowski. He was elected in 2014, and he represents the 10th Senate District in the California State Legislature. The district stretches from Southern Alameda County into Santa Clara County. He serves on a number of Senate committees as well, including judiciary, budget and fiscal review, transportation and housing, and ethics. He has been one of the leading voices pushing for housing solutions, including legislation on accessory dwelling units. He hopes to help out with California’s affordability issues and lack of new construction. His background is as a small business owner and bankruptcy attorney.

Bruce Norris is joined this week by Jordan Levine. Jordan is the senior economist at the California Association of Realtors, a statewide trade organization of real estate professionals with more than 190,000 members. Bruce Norris is joined this week by Jim Murrett. Jim has a MAI SRA designation, and he is from Hamburg, New York. He is the 2018 president of the Appraisal Institute. He will serve as immediate past president in 2019. He serves this year as chair of the organization’s Executive Committee and chairs its policy-setting board of directors. He has served on the Appraisal Institute’s National Board of Directors and Strategic Planning Committee, and he is chair of the Finance Committee. This is in addition to his many chapter roles, including president of the Upstate New York chapter. He has also been Treasurer and member of the board of directors of the International Center for Evaluation Certification, an affiliate of the Appraisal Institute. He received the 2014 Appraisal Institute Edward W. Adams, SRA, Outstanding Board Service Award. He also received the 2008 President Award, which is presented by the Upstate New York Chapter of the Appraisal Institute, for ongoing commitment, dedication, and service to the chapter and its profession.

Bruce Norris is joined this week by Dan Dunmoyer. Dan is president and CEO of the California Builders Industry Association. Dan oversees and manages all aspects of the association. He is a respected and recognized leader, strongly committed to ensuring the CBIA continues to be the leading voice of housing in California as well as efforts to ensure the American dream of homeownership is attainable for all Californians. He is the son of a small home builder from Southern California and a veteran of California public policy issues. He served as president and CEO of the Personal Insurance Federation of California from 1996 to 2005. As Deputy Chief of Staff and Cabinet Secretary for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Most recently he served as Senior Vice President and Head of Government Affairs for Zurich and Farmers Insurance companies.
