ADUs and the TIC Model with Dossier Capital #679

Aaron Norris of the Norris Group continues his discussion on accessory dwelling units with Dossier Capital. Joining him are Michael Delacruz, Dennis Battung and Michael Randall. A little over a year ago, a year from last September, they were very instrumental in helping write an accessory dwelling unit chapter as they rolled out hard money funding for investors doing this via flips, holds and even secondary units on rentals already purchased. Aaron followed with people he had worked with on this, including Kristi Cirtwell, and he looked at Dossier Capital's properties this summer. This interview is a follow-up to what they have done and if they still love ADUs.

Manufactured Housing and ADUs with John Arendsen #672

Aaron Norris is joined again this week by John Arendsen of Backyard Homes and several other companies to discuss accessory dwelling units. John is a licensed general contractor, manufactured home contractor, a licensed real estate broker and manufactured home dealer. This makes him a quadruple threat. He's been Aaron's go to for the last several years about accessory dwelling units. They met because of an introduction by Linda Scott out at SDCIA, and they've just had a great time getting to know each other. He gets to nerd out with legislation, anything around accessory dwelling units for the last year, and his whole family is actually involved in the business. His son and daughter run the main operations for on-the-level general contractors. His wife operates MH Processing LLC, and she's been a great resource for lending around the manufactured space. Aaron always bugs her about questions regarding ADUs

ADUs, SB 1069, and SB 13 Part 2 With Senator Bob Wieckowski #643

This week, Aaron Norris is joined again by Senator Bob Wieckowski. He was elected in 2014, and he represents the 10th Senate District in the California State Legislature. The district stretches from Southern Alameda County into Santa Clara County. He serves on a number of Senate committees as well, including judiciary, budget and fiscal review, transportation and housing, and ethics. He has been one of the leading voices pushing for housing solutions, including legislation on accessory dwelling units. He hopes to help out with California’s affordability. issues and lack of new construction. His background is as a small business owner and bankruptcy attorney.
