Ken Wilson of the Appraisal Institute Joins Bruce Norris on the Real Estate Radio Show #398

Bruce Norris is joined this week by Ken Wilson. Ken is the 2014 president of the Appraisal Institute. He has helped many other offices in that organization and has been involved in the real estate appraisal profession for more than 35 years following a 12-year career with two national appraisal firms. He started his own valuation and consultant firm in Dallas named Wilson Realty Advisors. Ken Wilson Joins Bruce Norris on the Real Estate Radio Show #343

Bruce Norris is joined this week by Ken Wilson. Ken is the 213 president-elect of the Appraisal Institute. He was the organization’s vice president in 2012, which means he will serve as president in 2014 and as immediate past president in 2015. He also serves on the organization’s executive committee and on its policy-making board of directors. Ken has been involved in the appraisal industry for more than thirty years. He owns his own business in Dallas, and he has so many roles in the Appraisal Institute and similar organizations. Bruce and Ken discuss the Great Recession, the MAI and SRA designations, challenges are the appraiser looks at, legal and illegal additions added to properties and why it is important to have a professional inspect it, review appraisals, the start of appraisal management companies, how the quality of an appraisal is impacted, the concept of substitution, green improvements in the building industry, and much more on this weeks real estate radio show and podcast.
